R2-Q5 and R2-A3

During the Galactic Civil War, both the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance utilized a variety of R2 series astromech droids. Designed to work in and around space vessels as diagnostic and repair units, many developed headstrong and self-reliant personalities. Among notable R2 units were the black-bodied R2-Q5, which was destroyed during the assault on the second Death Star, and the red-trimmed R2-A3, a capable mechanic and loyal companion to X-wing starfighter pilot Wedge Antilles.
