In The Avengers #4, Earth's mightiest heroes discover the body of Captain America still frozen in ice and perfectly preserved since his disappearance near the end of World War II. Cap saves the team from an outer space alien's plot and is invited to join their ranks. Published in March 1964, this issue features one of the "Silver Age" of comics' most famous covers.
